Everyone is waiting to see whether the country is going to stay under tight Covid-19 restrictions, after Cabinet meets today to decide whether to lift the lockdown outside of Auckland and the Coromandel.
One person not in favour of changing the rules is University of Canterbury Covid-19 modeller Professor Michael Plank, who told Morning Report it's entirely possible somebody could have travelled to Auckland over the weekend and taken the virus home to the regions.
"I think the precautionary approach, which we need to take with this delta variant, would be to extend the lockdown for the whole country," he said.
