Power outages: Collins blames oil and gas exploration ban for NZ's problems - Judith Collins

From Morning Report, 7:23 am on 11 August 2021

It's been a week of power outages for the parts of the country - and power struggles for the National Party.

National Party leader and former energy minister Judith Collins spoke to Susie Ferguson.

Energy Minister Megan Woods pushed back on that, and told Morning Report there was no problem with gas.

"The decision was made not to bring on the Taranaki Combined Cycle, because that takes three or so days to bring on. So, we did have more gas generations that could have been brought on. It is not a scarcity of gas."
