Rural school changes name after three year journey

A rural school south of Auckland has changed its name from Mercer to Te Paina - the original name of the area. 

The school has spent years consulting with students, whānau, iwi and hapū about changing the name. 

Māni Dunlop spoke to its Principal, Paula Faitala, who says its been a three-year journey to understand the meaning of the name, Te Paina, and talks about how the school and the community got to this point.
