A body sanctioned by the UN, the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, issued its latest and most dire assessment about the state of the planet and the impact of human behaviour on the climate.

It found global warming is unfolding more quickly than feared and humanity is almost entirely to blame.

The report found every inhabited region on Earth is likely to experience frequent extreme weather events of heat, rain and drought as greenhouse gases continue to push temperatures up.

The IPCC's report states cutting methane from livestock is essential to tackling the climate crisis.

Federated Farmers President and climate change spokesperson Andrew Hoggard spoke to Susie Ferguson.
