Harnessing Olympic focus for our own means

Olympians are often seen as the epitome of human performance - by many of us non-Olympians - flying over vaults, sprinting through finish lines or racing across water.

But while we might not reach those physical heights, there are some skills we can learn from these experts, as long as we're willing to put in the work ourselves.

Dr Tom Hannan, a research fellow with Australia's Griffith University says we can learn to channel some of their methods to achieve our own goals, from improving focus at work, to shedding a few kilos.

He spoke to Susie Ferguson.
