The National Party says it is leaning in favour of charging managed isolation fees for stranded New Zealanders returning from Australia.
National's Covid-19 spokesperson Chris Bishop, told Morning Report that people travelled to Australia knowing the risks.
He says New Zealanders at home will have a legitimate expectation that people will be charged for the use of MIQ facilities.
Claims of bots booking MIQ spots
Bishop also said bookings to MIQ were being made electronically.
In a statement, MBIE said botsĀ are not able to book spots in the managed isolation allocation system, due to the Recaptcha technology it has in place.
