National Party wants government to share information on Uyghurs

The National Party is urging the Government to share any information its intelligence agencies have on the treatment of Uyghur people in China.

It comes after Labour MP Louisa Wall doubled down on comments that her own party isn't doing enough to counter what she calls slave labour trade in Xinjiang province.

National's foreign affairs spokesperson Gerry Brownlee says New Zealanders are worried about reports of human rights abuses and deserve to know what the Government does.
