A New Zealand man says the government's ignoring science by not allowing fully vaccinated people into the country without quarantining for two weeks.
The limited rooms in managed isolation and quarantine facilities are booked out until November.
Chris Ruscoe is in Tennessee and says as more and more Kiwis overseas are fully vaccinated - like he was three months ago - and there's next to no chance they'll bring Covid-19 back with them.
He told reporter Jordan Bond the rigid system will mean he essentially can't come home this year.
A spokesperson for Covid-19 Minister Chris Hipkins says a change will be considered later in the year as more people are vaccinated - and more work has been done on vaccine passports or another form of authentication.
