Planner labels proposed Resource Management Acts too complex

A planning specialist says the proposed replacement for the Resource Management Act is too complex and risks being a catastrophic disaster.

The decades-old rules for managing land, water and natural resources has been overhauled multiple times but now it is being dumped and redone.

The government has released the first draft of the Natural and Built Environments Act showing the direction it intends to go in.
