Iwi furious it wasn't consulted on Hauraki Gulf plan

A Northland-based Iwi is furious it wasn't consulted when the government formulated its Hauraki Gulf revitalisation plan - saying it's the second time in two years its Te Tiriti o Waitangi rights have been ignored.

The Ngātiwai Trust Board will strongly oppose elements of the Sea Change Plan unveiled yesterday because of the lack of engagement - which it described as disgusting.

Te Poari o Ngātiwai chief executive Hūhana Lyndon spoke to Corin Dann.
