National Party slams mental health funding rollout

From Morning Report, 6:20 am on 23 June 2021

The National Party has labelled the government's slow roll-out of mental health funding as another failure to deliver.

The Health Minister Andrew Little revealed on Checkpoint last night that just nine-million of a $235 million facilities fund has been spent since 2019.

Little says he's frustrated by the progress and is considering an independent review of what's been completed so far.

The National Party's Matt Doocey questions why another review is needed.

As of yesterday morning the most recent figures from April showed just over $500,000 of the $235 million invested in mental health facilities in the 2019 Budget had been spent.

Little last night updated that figure to $9 million.
