A woman is blaming the Education Ministry and Oranga Tamariki for the fact that her granddaughter has missed nearly three years of schooling.
She says problem started late in 2018 when the girl's secondary school refused to re-enrol after she left for a couple of months following an incident, and other schools also would not take her.
RNZ has agreed not to reveal details that might identify the teenager.
The girl's grandmother told our education correspondent, John Gerritsen, she is mystified why more was not done to help the child.
