Cloud service provider's troubles break the internet

A huge internet outage last night resulted in websites and apps around the world going dark for an hour after a major content delivery network failed.

News websites and apps affected included CNN, The Guardian, the New York Times as well as sites here in New Zealand.

Amazon, Reddit and Spotify also went down.

Cloud service provider Fastly seems to be at the centre of the issue.
