Climate change likely made Canterbury deluge worse - scientist

A climate scientist says it's too soon to say exactly what role climate change played in the severity of the Canterbury deluge - but it's likely to have made it more severe.

The warming of the atmosphere means more moisture - and more heavy rain.

Does that mean the changing climate could be at least partially to blame for the amount of damage?
