Stewart Mitchell takes over as NZ Rugby chair

From Morning Report, 8:20 am on 1 June 2021

New Zealand Rugby has a new chair.

Stewart Mitchell won the role over Bailey Mackey in a tense contest yesterday, by one vote, and he's promising to "re-imagine" and "innovate" on, and off, the rugby field.

Former Black Ferns captain Farah Palmer, who is now a lecturer at Massey University, has been named as his deputy.

Mitchell takes over from Brent Impey, who stepped down after seven years in the role.

Mitchell spoke to Corin Dann.
