If our skies are clear tonight, New Zealanders should get the best view in the world of a red supermoon.
Also known as a blood moon, a supermoon is actually a total lunar eclipse that occurs at the same time as the moon's closest approach to Earth.
It'll begin at nine forty-five pm, and at eleven minutes past eleven, for 15 minutes only, the Moon will be entirely in the Earth's shadow.
