Review suggests link between compost site odour & health issues

An independent review of air quality at a controversial composting and worm farming business in Taranaki has found there is most likely a relationship between illness in the community and odours emitting from the Uruti site.

The review, prepared for the District Health Board, was prompted when three people required ambulance treatment in April after encountering a strong smell near Remediation NZ's operation.

Taranaki Whanganui reporter Robin Martin spoke to local resident Dawn Bendall, one of those who needed treatment. He began by asking her what happened.
