Waikato District Health Board cyber attack: Work still underway to recover systems

From Morning Report, 7:35 am on 24 May 2021

The Waikato District Health Board is still working to recover its systems after last week's cyber attack.

As the effects wear on, some staff are worried they won't be paid properly for a second week.

A ransomware attack last Tuesday crashed the district health board's computer system and it is likely to be out of action this week as well.

Three hundred patients a day are having their elective surgeries cancelled.

Waikato DHB chief executive Kevin Snee spoke to Corin Dann.
