Fears of all out war between Israel and Palestine

From Morning Report, 7:17 am on 13 May 2021

The United Nations has fears for a full-scale war breaking out between Israel and Palestine.

More than 1000 rockets have now been fired by Palestinian militants over 38 hours, according to Israel.

Israel has also carried out hundreds of air strikes, destroying two tower blocks in Gaza on Tuesday and Wednesday, and a 14-storey building today.

At least 56 Palestinians and six Israelis have been killed since Monday, and hundreds are injured. Israel prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu says this conflict is "just the beginning".

Palestinian negotiator and lawmaker Dr Hanan Ashrawi says Israel has all the power - while Palestinians have none.
