India has reported it's highest-ever 24 hour surge in Covid-19 cases and a record-high daily death toll. In the past 30 days, the country has recorded 8.3 million cases.
So far, the virus has killed more than 230,000 Indians.
Epidemiologists believe that India's surge could hit 500,000 cases a day in the coming weeks.
While all eyes have been on Delhi in recent weeks, the virus is also spreading and causing havoc in other major cities and rural areas.
Mumbai-based independent journalist Priti Gupta spoke to Corin Dann.
