One of the largest hospitals in Fiji has been put into lockdown to prevent it from becoming ground zero for a Covid-19 outbreak.
The Pacific nation has been fighting a local outbreak of the virus, going into a lockdown a couple of days ago.
Lautoka Hospital has recorded three cases coming from within the hospital, prompting the decision to close it to the public.
The Permanent Secretary for Health, Dr James Fong, says more than 400 staff have been sequestered and will be effectively quarantined within the hospital.
