Drug buying agency Pharmac is considering scrapping a special rule that allows hospitals to give children with cancer any medicine their doctor asks for and Pharmac pays the bill.
The change is being considered in light of a claim that this rule discriminates against children with rare diseases, who don't get the same access to drugs.
Pharmac chief executive Sarah Fitt spoke to Corin Dann.
