Boris Johnson facing scrutiny for Downing Street renovation costs

British Prime Minister Boris Johnson is under scrutiny from the Electoral Commission for claims his home renovations broke the law.

His former chief of staff has accused the Prime Minister of taking secret payments from donors to cover costs. Mr Johnson is suspected to have spent as much as 200,000 pounds on doing up Downing Street.

The prime minister receives an annual public grant of 30-thousand pounds to spend on living quarters.
