Rate of material hardship for disabled children more than double that of non-disabled

One in every five disabled children in this country live in households that can't afford things most of us deem essential.

Healthy food, trips to the doctor or even turning the heating on can all be out of reach.

That rate of material hardship is more than double that of non-disabled children.

Disability advocates say support in New Zealand falls well short of other countries and the government needs to provide more cash.
