Immigration officials are scrambling to explain how a man was able to fly from lockdown in Perth to Auckland via Sydney, without being stopped.
The man arrived in Auckland on Monday and continued on to Northland, where he was spoken to by health officials and is now self-isolating.
Whether any action will be taken over the breach remains unclear.
