The long weekend brought a welcome boost for tourist operators, with one Rotorua operator even having to turn people away.
Paul Button is the general manager of Rotorua Canopy Tours - which takes tourists ziplining through the Mamaku forest.
He told our reporter Rachel Thomas his business was running between 15 and 18 tours each day over the long weekend.
