A bubble, a band and a holiday delivered a cash-fuelled weekend for some tourist operators in major centres.
It was the first long weekend since the trans-Tasman bubble opened, bringing in the first interntional visitors in more than a year.
While some are dusting off the sold-out signs, others continue to wait with fingers crossed.
