Family left MIQ for days without public knowing

From Morning Report, 7:14 am on 23 April 2021

The Ministry of Health allowed a family to remain in the community for more than two days after escaping managed isolation during lockdown in May 2020.

The breach had officials in Auckland scrambling, with one person writing to the Ministry of Health to denounce their lack of direction over the escape.
