A US watchdog of state surveillance says the advisers that New Zealand police are using on its facial recognition software will have a lot to keep an eye on.
The police have called in two outside experts for advice about facial recognition technology.
They say they may choose not to use many of the new capabilities available since a multi-million-dollar tech upgrade.
