Massacres in Myanmar push protestors off the streets

From Morning Report, 6:14 am on 16 April 2021

In Myanmar, protestors have resorted to laying out flowers and using watermelons to hold up signs as escalating military violence has made active protest a fatal undertaking.

On Friday over 70 people were massacred by army forces in Bago near the city of Yangon.

The military is reported to have taken away the bodies of those who were killed making it impossible to establish the true number of deaths.

Myanmar correspondent Aye Min Thant told Morning Report producer, Lily della Porta, how the military is targeting civilians.
