NZ Rugby wants financial strength from new Pasifika teams

The long-awaited inclusion of Pacific Island teams in Super Rugby is closer to reality after Moana Pasifika and Fijian Drua were granted conditional licences to compete next year.

They're not across the line yet though.

New Zealand Rugby wants both entities to present a sustainable business case by late June before confirming their place in a 12-team competition - which will also comprise five teams each from Australia and New Zealand.
