The Derek Chauvin trial for the murder of George Floyd has reached day eight of proceedings in Minneapolis.
Floyd's death ignited the Black Lives Matter protests last year, and with the world watching, many feel as if America's police culture itself is on trial.
Multiple witnesses, including Chauvin's former colleagues, have told the court he applied excessive use of force.
