Secondary schools hope for more participation in sports

From Morning Report, 8:52 am on 6 April 2021

Secondary schools are hoping the pandemic won't stop teenagers from signing up for sports teams this winter.

Auckland had some of the lowest rates in the country with around two out of every three kids in Waitakere and Counties refusing to take part.

Some principals say many students and families won't commit time or money to anything that might be cancelled by lockdowns.
