Lydia Ko comes second to Kiwi-coached Patty Tavatanakit

There are signs that golfer Lydia Ko is back near her world-beating best form.

The former all-conquering world No.1 yesterday shot a majestic course-record round of 10-under in her final round of the ANA Inspiration - the first major of the year - and came close to a first tournament win in three years.

She had to settle for second place, just two shots behind Patty Tavatanakit, the Thai winner who is ironically coached by New Zealander Grant Waite.
