Trans-Tasman bubble: Travellers must be prepared to stay put - Jacinda Ardern

From Morning Report, 6:00 am on 6 April 2021

The Prime Minister says New Zealanders travelling to Australia must be prepared to stay put across the Tasman if there's a Covid-19 outbreak there.

Jacinda Ardern is expected to announce the start date of a trans-Tasman bubble today.

The change will allow New Zealanders to cross the ditch without having to quarantine on the way back.

Speaking last week, Ardern explained how the government might respond to an outbreak once the bubble opens.
