From Morning Report, 7:47 am on 1 April 2021

Plans for light rail in Auckland are back on the table, but only time will tell whether the proposal, which hasn't progressed past the planning phase since 2017, will finally get off the ground.

On Wednesday, Transport Minister Michael Wood announced that a new working unit will be given six months to get the Auckland light rail project back on track.

Minister Wood says community engagement and consultation will be a focus.
