From dawn to dusk, courier drivers provide a vital service to New Zealanders - but they're not always treated like it.
As contractors, most drivers miss out on receiving the minimum wage, redundancy and holiday pay.
A union has now lodged a group action in the Employment Court asking whether New Zealand Post courier drivers are self employed contractors or employees.
The declaration they are looking for concerns a group of couriers, with 15 signed up so far and 80 in talks over joining the action.
