Asst Police Cmmr hasn't heard of staff refusing call outs

From Morning Report, 6:37 am on 29 March 2021

Frontline police officers have told RNZ they have refused to go to high-risk call outs if they didn't feel well enough prepared.

The National Party is claiming that officers are facing a greater threat from armed gang members, and the police association is calling for more training to deal with dangerous situations.

Police Assistant Commissioner Tusha Penny says she hasn't heard of staff ever refusing to respond, but says it is perfectly normal for officers to be scared.
