Northland Councils want some of Housing Acceleration Fund

Cash strapped Northland councils are delighted at the prospect of getting their hands on some of the $3.8b fund that could help them build more houses.

The infrastructure fund is part of the Government's bid to put a brake on soaring property prices.

While the other parts of the housing package have been roundly criticised by landlords and investors the fund is being called long overdue.
