The Prime Minister made the call to put the country into lockdown because of Covid-19 one year ago on Tuesday.
Other countries were being ravaged by the virus and at the time, Aotearoa New Zealand had 102 confirmed cases of the virus which was spreading in the community.
The borders were already shut, but the lockdown forced non-essential businesses and schools to close.
