Phone companies agree to give clearer information about plans

The clouds are about to clear for New Zealand customers who can't decide which telecommunication plan best suits their needs.

Our three biggest telcos - Spark, Vodafone and 2Degrees - have agreed to implement changes drawn up by the Commerce Commission to improve choice.

They must provide a year's worth of usage and spend information to all customers, many of whom may have accepted plans that don't suit their needs.

A comparison tool will also be developed, to allow an easy comparison of providers and plans.
