The Principals Federation is challenging the authority of the Ministry of Education to order schools to enroll violent children.
It has told its members to consider contesting any directed enrolment involving a student who has been kicked out of another school for violence.
Perry Rush from the Principals Federation told RNZ education correspondent John Gerritsen the ministry is ordering schools to enroll children other schools have found too dangerous.
