Amnesty International 'incredibly concerned' at Minister's response to treatment of women at Auckland prison

From Morning Report, 8:28 am on 23 February 2021

Amnesty International says the treatment of a woman at Auckland Region Women's Prison could be considered psychological torture.

Prisoner Mihi Bassett was left for four months "in the pound" in solitary confinement - which a judge found was unlawful.

Amnesty International's Executive Director Meg de Ronde says Amnesty wants an independent inquiry.
