Former Air New Zealand boss Christopher Luxon admits it was a mistake not establishing a process in which he was told about all military contracts entered into by the business.
Pressure has been mounting on the national carrier, following revelations its gas turbines unit had been working on engines for the Royal Saudi Navy, which has been blocking food and medicine getting into Yemen - in the throes of a humanitarian crisis.
The contract dates back to 2019 when Luxon - who is now a National MP - was chief executive, but he was never made aware of it.
Air New Zealand has since apologised and started two reviews - and there are calls for Parliament's Foreign Affairs committee to hold a separate independent investigation.
Deputy political editor Craig McCulloch spoke to Luxon and asked him if he is willing to assist the inquiries.
