The National Party says reforms to the Resource Management Act announced on Wednesday will take too long to come into effect.
The government has confirmed it will scrap the RMA and replace it with three new pieces of legislation.
The Opposition says the government is not showing enough urgency when it comes to making it easier to build homes and wants to see interim measures put in place.
