Māori organisations collective adivsing govt on RMA

A collective of five prominent Māori organisations is advising the government on how best to uphold the Treaty of Waitangi in the designing of new environmental laws. 

Te Wai Māori, the Freshwater Iwi Leaders Group, the New Zealand Māori council, Kāhui Wai Māori and the Federation of Māori Authorities have come together to provide guidance on the repeal and replacement of the RMA. 

Its co-chair Rukumoana Schaufhaussen told our reporter Meriana Johnsen says it's a first for these groups to work together like this.
