The government is considering creating a new public agency to deliver Auckland Light Rail. RNZ revealed last year transport officials were warning the major project was too big and too complex for any existing public agency to deliver.
They said expertise within an existing entity would need to be bolstered or a entirely new agency would need to be created.
Transport Minister Michael Wood says the government is currently considering the next steps for the project and how it will be delivered.
