A Karitane mother has already taken her baby for lead testing because she's so worried about the unsafe levels in the water she's been feeding the child.
Residents were last night told the supply was forty times the acceptable amount, not four times like they were initially informed. A public meeting will be held tonight in East Otago as health officials look to reassure locals.
Karitane mother Ashleigh Thompson told RNZ reporter Eleisha Foon she's trying not to dwell on the unknown, but is waiting for results.
