New Zealand Rugby has reportedly been offered nearly $500,000 by a US investment company for a stake in its commercial rights.
Speculation is mounting private equity firm Silver Lake wants up to 15 percent of those rights, which would give them a slice of the broadcasting and streaming pie, along with sponsorship and merchandising profits.
The New Zealand Herald reported rugby bosses are now consulting provincial unions before making a decision within the next two months.
