Lead found in coastal Otago towns' water supply

From Morning Report, 8:14 am on 3 February 2021

Residents of the Otago towns of Waikouaiti and Karitane won't be drinking the tap water for at least the next few days.

Samples taken in early December found nearly four times the safe amount of lead in part of the water supply, although a missed e-mail meant that nobody at the council was aware of the problem until the New Year.
